Men and Women's Bodybuilding Info & Rules

General Information

 

  • ENTRY DEADLINE: Entries are due by 9pm on March 27, 2024.  Late entries will have a $40.00 handling fee.   Visit the registration page to enter
  • ELIGIBILITY: Open to all NPC registered athletes 18 and older. If you are not a NPC registered athlete, you can obtain your NPC card at www.NPCNewsOnline.com. This must be done prior to entering the contest. Bodybuilding, Classic Physique, Physique, Figure, Wellness and Bikini competitions are a national qualifier and therefore open to all NPC registered individuals.
  • DATE, TIME & LOCATION:   March 30, 2024 at 5pm | Niagara Falls Convention Center | 101 Old Falls St, Niagara Falls, NY 14303
  • CHECK-IN: Friday, March 29,2024 at 6:30pm at Niagara Falls Convention  Center. (All contestants MUST report for height and/or weight verification and NPC membership)
  • PRE-JUDGING:
  • Athlete Meeting: Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 9:00AM 
  • Judging: Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 10:00AM 
  • EVENING SHOW: Contestants are to report at 4:30 PM on Saturday, March 30, 2024. Finals at 5:00 PM. All contestants will be presented to the audience at the finals. 
  • MUSIC: Bodybuilding, Men’s Classic Physique and Women’s Physique: All music must be uploaded into Muscleware and should be no longer than 60 seconds. Once registered, you will be able to upload your music into the software. This must be done by 9pm March 27, 2024. If music is deemed to have profanity, the contestant will be disqualified. Men’s Physique, Figure, Wellness and Bikini will use house music.
  • AWARDS: Top five in each class and overall winners will receive awards
  • MISC: All contestants must display good sportsmanship at all times and follow rules. Signing the registration form is consent of acceptance to financial responsibility for replacement cost of Convention Center property caused by misuse.

Men's Open Classes
  • Bantam: Under 143 ¼lbs.  
  • Light: Over 143 ¼ lbs. up to and including 154 ¼lbs.  
  • Middle: Over 154 ¼lbs. up to and including 176 ¼lbs.  
  • Light Heavy: Over 176 ¼lbs. up to and including 198 ¼lbs.
  • Heavy: Over 198 ¼lbs. up to and including 225 ¼ lbs  
  • Super Heavy: Over 225 ¼ lbs
Men's Novice Classes:
  • Light: Under 165 ¼lbs.  
  • Middle: Over 165 ¼lbs. up to and including 187 ¼lbs. 
  • Heavy: Over 187 ¼ lbs. 
Men's Masters: 
  • Over 40 
  • Over 50 
  • Over 60  
Men's Teen Classes: 
  • Light: Under 176 ¼lbs.
  • Heavy: Over 176 ¼ lbs.
Women's Open: 1 class

Posing Attire
  • All suit bottoms must be V-shaped, no thongs are permitted.
  • Suits worn by male competitors must be plain in color with no fringe or wording.
  • Posing Suits worn by female competitors must be two-piece but may include a printed design with fringes, lace, sparkle or fluorescents that are in good taste.
  • All suits will be inspected at the check-in’s. Every competitor must wear their competition suit under their clothing to check-in’s for inspection. If your suit is not inspected you will not be permitted to compete. No Exceptions.
  • If you change your competition suit from prejudging to finals and the judges deem it not to conform to the rules you will be directed to leave the stage. No Exceptions.
  • Competitors are not permitted to alter the fit of the posing suit by hiking it up in the back or by pulling up the sides at any time while posing on stage.
Onstage
  • During the Prejudging male and female competitors are not permitted to wear any jewelry onstage other than a wedding band and earrings. Decorative pieces in the hair are not permitted.
  • No props or gum are permitted onstage.
  • Any competitor doing the “Moon Pose” will be disqualified.
  • Lying on the floor is prohibited.
  • Bumping and shoving is prohibited, that includes elbowing the competitor on either side of you. All persons involved will be disqualified.
  • Competitor’s numbers will be worn on the left side of the suit bottom with the exception of Bikini and Wellness.
  • Bikini and Wellness competitors have the option of wearing their number on their dominant hip forward when standing to the front, meaning on the left or right side of their suit bottom.
